a few words on MAREVIVO

MAREVIVO is a nonprofit environmental association, born in 1985 and operating over the Italian territory through its local units and, at international level, through correspondents acting in some coastal Countries of the Mediterranean. Its mission and actions are focused towards the Mediterranean marine and coastal environment protection and towards the education for sustainable development. It is member of Mediterranean Information Office for Environment, Culture and Sustainable Development (MIO-ECSDE), of European Environmental Bureau (EEB) and of Shark Alliance

Through specific projects operating in several sectors, MAREVIVO cares information and awareness, environmental education, scientific work and environmental policy. It holds a dialogue with citizens, institutions, enterprises and other environmental and professional associations in order to turn their attention to a better account of Mediterranean natural, cultural, and socio-economic resources.

Moreover MAREVIVO carried out numerous campaigns in Italy with the purpose of sensitising the Italian political world in the preparation of specific legislative tools and in Mediterranean with the aim of creating an ideal “blue line” of cooperation and solidarity between coastal Countries for a better account of “Mare nostrum”.
